Meknes is a bustling modern city in northern Morocco. Additionally, the imperial city is characterized by its amazing old ruins. The Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, a decorative tomb of Sultan Moulay Ismail, was founded in 1703 by Ahmed Eddahbi. The Mausoleum is also available for non-Muslims, but don’t forget to take off your shoes and wear modest clothes while entering. The Koubat Al Khayatine is the old ambassador hall with stunning architecture. Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of the most famous sights in Meknes; it is the ruins of Roman construction date back to the third century BC, and it is about 29 kilometers from Meknes. Sahrij Swanin, the Royal granaries of Moulay Ismail heyday, is another place worth a visit in the city; a combination of basin luck reservoir and ancient ruined walls.
